First thing first!
The base color.
I can't tell you at the moment if it is necessary to use a dark shade as a base. But I have noticed that any chrome nail polish looks better over a black base so for my first attempt I decided to try it out..
I did 2 coats of "Onix" - Vogue Fantastic

Por el momento no puedo decirles si es necesario usar una base oscura. Pero yo personalmente he notado que cualquier esmalte cromado se ve mejor sobre un color negro, así que para mi primer intento decidí usarlo así.

Let's talk about a little bit of these chrome powders..
As far as I know, these work over gel polish but lucky me the ones I got from Whats Up Nails work over regular nail polish and gel polish as well.
The trick here is to have a very, very smooth surface..
This one is called "Paradise Powder"
And since gel works better I had this 'gel like' topcoat that does not need UV light and I like because it does give a very smooth and shiny surface perfect to make this powder work!
What I did:
I let my black base color dry and added a good layer of "Frosting" Topcoat from L.A. Colors and waited for about 5 to 7 minutes, no more!
I used my finger to rub the powder very gently over the nail and BOOM! we have chrome nails, that easy.

Hablemos un poco sobre estos polvos cromados..
Lo que yo se es que estos funcionan sobre esmaltes de gel pero para mi suerte obtuve estos de Whats Up Nails que funcionan sobre ambos, esmaltes regulares y de gel.
El truco es que se necesita una superfice muy muy lisa..
Este que tengo aqui se llama "Paradise Powder"
Y ya que estos funcionan mejor sobre esmalte de gel, tengo este topcoat que es 'tipo gel' pero no necesita luz UV y me gusta porque me da una superficie plana y suave perfecta para que estos polvos funcionen!
Lo que hice:
Deje el esmalte negro que secara y aplique una generosa capa de topcoat "Frosting" de L.A. Colors y espere de unos 5 a 7 minutos, no mas!
Use mi dedo para aplicar el polvo frotandolo suave y gentilmente sobre la uña y BOOM! tenemos uñas cromadas, así de fácil.

To match this chrome look I used a swarovski crystal from Daily Charme
This is a Chaton Pointed Back in "Paradise Shine" that casually has the same of the powder and same shifting color..
Not casually at all..
In fact, when I was about to choose the powders I saw the name of this one and I knew I had to get it.. not only because of the name though, I did love the color but the name also made a difference 😆
If you wonder, I had the swarovski crystal first. I was waiting to use it and what a perfect match

Este es un 'Chaton Pointed Back' en color "Paradise Shine" que casualmente tiene el mismo cambio de color.
Bueno no es casualidad del todo..
En realidad, cuando fue para elegir los polvos vi el nombre de este y supe que tenia que elegirlo.. No solo por el nombre claro, ame este color pero el nombre hizo un poco de diferencia 😆
Si se preguntan, tenia el swarovski primero. Solo estaba esperando para usarlo y que combinación tan perfecta!
And this is how it looks with topcoat..
As you can see there is no much difference, that mirror like effect is lost a little bit but it does not crackle or ruins the powder.
In the middle nail, there is a little smudge and that is my fault because I accidentally pressed harder than I should when I added the topcoat.
So the idea is to add a good layer of topcoat for better results.
Y así es como se ve con topcoat..
Como pueden ver no hay mucha diferencia, ese efecto espejo que tiene el polvo se pierde un poco pero este no arruina o crepita el polvo.
En la uña del medio, hay una pequeña mancha y eso fue mi culpa porque accidentalmente presione mas de lo que debía mientras colocaba el topcoat.
Así que la idea es poner una buena capa para mejores resultados.
