Splatter Roses Nails

Today's inspiration comes from a picture I saw on google. A vector clip art from CanStockPhoto. 


La inspiracion de hoy viene de una imagen que vi en google. Un vector clip art de CanStockPhoto.

For this abstract nail art I used: 
"It's Frosty Outside", "Alpine Snow" and "Lincoln Park After Dark" by O.P.I Products. 
"Super Shine" topcoat  by Sally Hansen.


Para este diseño use:
"It's Frosty Outside", "Alpine Snow", y "Lincoln Park After Dark" de Esmaltes O.P.I.
"Super Shine" topcoat / brillo protector de Sally Hansen.

This vampy polish is a deep dark purple shade. It covers with 2 thin coats only, the first coat is a little bit uneven but it gets smooth and blended in the second one. It is really shiny and easy to work with, but for a better finish needs topcoat.


Este emalte vampirezco es un color morado oscuro. Cubre con 2 capas ligeras solamente, la primera capa puede ser algo irregular pero se arregla con la segunda capa. Tiene un acabado brilloso y es facil de aplicar, pero para un mejor resultado aplicar brillo.

"It's Frosty Outside" (liquid sand) it is a silver textured polish, ends to a matte finish. Covers easy with 2 coats or 3 thin coats and doesn't need topcoat.

"It's Frosty Outside" (arena liquida) es un esmalte texturado plateado con un acabado mate. Cubre con 2 capas o 3 capas ligeras y no necesita brillo.

"Alpine Snow" It's a creamy white polish. I have seen a lot of swatches of this polish and I have now finally found it to try it myself. It covers with 2 thin coats, its formula was great or at least better than others. I wish it blended even better.

"Alpine Snow" es un esmalte blanco cremoso. He visto muchas reseñas de este esmalte en particular y ahora tengo la oportunidad de probarlo yo misma. Cubre con 2 capas ligeras, su formula es bastante buena o por decir mejor que muchos. Solo esperaba que tuviera un acabado mas liso.

And finally THE TOPCOAT! This one is from Sally Hansen 'Super Shine'. I have been looking for a good quality topcoat for a while and I think this one is really great!. 
Smooth and shiny finish and dries fast. I really love this topcoat. 

Y finalmente EL TOPCOAT! Este es de Sally Hansen 'Super Shine'. He buscado por un brillo de buena calidad y creo que este es muy bueno! 
Acabado liso y brillante y seca rapido. En realidad me encanta este topcoat.

Half Moon Nails / "Cactus" by L.A. Colors

Hello everyone!. Today a have an easy and chic nail design to share, Half moon mani with glitter placement with a subtle glitter gradient effect. 


Hola a todos!. Hoy les tengo un diseño muy facil y chic para compartirlo con ustedes, Half moon (o media luna) con un efecto escarchado en degrade muy sutil. 

For this design I used "Cactus" by L.A.Colors Cosmetics. Is a beautiful goldish green shimmery shade with macro red glitters. For the glitter placement and gardient effect I used "Disco  D'Ouro" by Risque, it is a brazilian nail polish brand, is a glitter nail polish with tiny gold holo glitter with some small hexa holo glitter in a clear base. 


Para este diseño use "Cactus" by L.A. Colors Cosmetics. Es un hermoso color verde dorado escarchado con un toque de escarcha roja. Para el efecto degrade y la colocacion de los hexa-glitter, use "Disco D'Ouro" de Risque, es una marcha de esmalte brasilero, es un esmalte de escarcha dorada holografica y con pequeños hexagonos dorados holografico.

This design is very simple and cute, and it doesnt need any special tools. To create the half moon I used a circular label that can be found at any craft store or office depot, or it can be done with scotch tape by cutting it in a circular shape, and placed the glitter with a toothpick.


Este diseño es muy simple, no necesita ningun tipo de material especial. Para crear los half moons use unas etiquetas circulares de oficina que pueden ser encontradas en cualquier tienda de manualidades o en el departamento de oficinas, pero puede ser hecho con simple cinta adhesiva cortada con unas tijeras en forma circular, y para colocar las hexa- escarchas use un palillo de dientes.

The formula of "cactus" was really nice, it was easy to apply, needs 3 thin coats to full opacity and has a smooth finish. "Disco D'Ouro" is just a topper glitter, it doesn't cover completely a surface, its formula is very thin, but it is a very gorgeous holo glitter. 

La formula de "cactus" es bastante buena, facil de aplicar, necesita 3 capas ligeras para opacidad total y tiene un acabado liso. "Disco D'Ouro" es como un topcoat escarchado, ya que no cubre completamente una superficie, su formula es muy ligera, pero es un bello esmalte escarchado.

Crellies Nail Polish?!

Today I have this crellie nail polish to share with you. So lets start with the basic, crellies are nail polishes that have a sheer base with some colorful or simple glitter in different shapes. 
In this case I have a sheer nude base with black matte hexa glitter in different sizes.



Hoy les traigo este tipo de esmalte "crellies" para compratir con ustedes. Asi que empezemos con lo basico, 'crellies' son esos tipos de esmaltes con un color base semi transparente con escarcha de diferntes tamaños y/o color.  
En este caso es un color beij con escarcha hexa, en color negro mate en diferentes tamaños.

The base color doesn't hide completely the glitters, in each coat you add they become more translucent giving it a sofisticated, delicate and more romantic look. Just like lace clothing, covers but not completely, so femenine... 


El color base no opaca completamente la escarcha, en cada capa que agregas ellos se vuelven mas traslucidos dandole asi un look mas sofisticado, delicado y mas romantico. Al igual que la ropa de encaje, cubre pero no por completo, mucho mas femenino... 

Here I added 3 easy thin coats.

Aqui tengo 3 capas ligeras

I decided to change a little bit and do an accent nail. Black over black. Here I was not looking for the black studs to pop, it was just to give a 3D like effect. 
The black base is "Circuit" by L.A. Colors Cosmetics,  2 easy coats. Studs are from Sally Hansen.


Decidi cambiar un poco y hacer una uña de acento. Negro sobre negro. Aqui no estaba buscando que las piedritas negras resalten, solo un efecto 3D.
El color base es 'Circuit' de L.A. Colors Cosmetics, 2 capas. Las piedritas son de Sally Hansen.

I don't know if this black polish is meant to be like a shimmery one, but it looks very pretty. It can be barely been seen unless we pay attention to it, but this shimmer disappears when topcoat is added. How weird is that....


No se si este negro es para que sea un escarchado, pero se ve muy bien. Se le ve muy poco solo si le prestas atencion, pero este desaparece cuando se le agrega topcoat.. Que raro esta eso....

Crown Nails Using Rhombus Glitter / Magnetic Nail Polish

This is one the nail designs that is magically the result of an unexpected design. I was just playing around with the materials I had  at hand. No guide, no sketch and was not planned.


Este es uno de estos diseños que magicamente son el resultado de algo inesperado. Yo solo estaba jugando con materiales que tenia al alcance de la mano. Sin guia, sin bosquejo y no fue planeado. 

base color.

Let's start with the base color. This is a magnetic polish by Esmaltes Darosa. It's a deep purplish cherry (or dark violet) simmery shade. After using the magnet, (comes with the polish) it creates lines or chevrons in this case turning them into a lighter violet as shown on the picture above. It's really shiny and have a very smooth finish, and no topcoat was added yet. Really impressive.. 

Empezemos con el color base. Es un esmlate magnetico de Esmaltes Darosa. Es un color cereza violaceo (o violeta oscuro). Despues de usar el iman (viene con el esmalte) crea ligeras lineas o chevrons en este caso que se vuelven a un color violeta mas claro como se muestra en la foto anterior. Es verdaderamente brilloso y tiene un acabado liso, y aun no se le a agregado brillo protector (topcoat). Muy impresionante.

For the little crowns, I used some rhombus glitter and little studs. The first idea of this design was to create a flower using 6 rhombus glitter placed in a circual pattern but after the third glitter I added, it looked like a crown so I decided to change it.



Para las pequeñas coronas. use unas escarchas en forma de rombo y unos pequeños studs. La primera idea de este diseño era crear una flor con estos rombos usando 6 de ellos en un patron circular. pero despues de agregar el tercero se parecio a una corosa asi que cambie de parecer. 

After a while and thinking that this mani needed something else i also decided to change by adding glitter polish. 

Despues de pensarlo un rato pense que este mani necesitaba algo mas asi que decidi agregar esmalte dorado escarchado.

This gold holo-glitter is called 'Glam Rock' by Hits (Brasil). It needs about 3 coats to be fully opaque, but I used the sponge method to maximize the glitter without the clear polish. 

Este esmalte escarchado se llama 'Glam Rock' de Hits (Brasil). Necesita como 3 capas de esmalte para cubrir la uña completa, pero yo use el metodo con la esponja para maximizar la escarcha sin su esmalte base transparente.

This glitter is really pretty, but it is better to use a gold base for a better result which I did not do it... The glitters are big and the formula is thick. 

Esta escarcha es bonita, pero es mejor usar una base dorada para un resultado mejor que yo no hice... La escarcha es grande y la formula un tanto espesa.

And here is the final result, a very chic and easy manicure. I sealed everything 2 coats of topcoat. 

Y aqui esta el resultado final, un diseño muy chic y facil. Termine con 2 capas de brillo protector.

Grape Nails Inspired 'Grapevine' by L.A. Colors

Today my inspiration comes from the name of the own polish 'Grapevine'.  It's a purple shimmer polish with silver glass flecks. 


Hoy mi inspiracion viene del nombre de este esmalte 'Grapevine' (Vid). Es un esmalte escarchado purpura con escarcha plateada. 

I did 3 thin coats for full opacity. The formula was really great, smooth and easy to apply.
On my accent nail I have 3 thin coats of  'blanco armiño' by Vogue Fantastic. For the grapes I used the same purple, for the highlights to give it dimension also mixed it with white. 


Para cubrir completamente la uña use 3 capas ligeras. Su formula es muy buena, acabado parejo y suave y facil de aplicar. 
En mi uña de acento tengo 3 capas ligeras de 'blanco armiño' de Vogue Fantastic. Para las uvas use el mismo purpura, los detalles de luz mezclado con un poco de blanco.

This design did not turned out as I spected, but I guess we are not perfect and also make mistakes. 

Este diseño no salio como esperaba, pero supongo que nadie es perfecto y todos cometemos errores.

Black matte and Fakies "sparkle on top" by ESSIE

Simple and chic. Today I bring you the perfect combo, matte and flakies.


Simple y elegante. Hoy les traigo la combinacion perfecta, mate y flakes (es un tipo de escarcha irregular)

Starting with this beautiful matte black polish for the base of my mani. This is "Preto Grafico Fosco" by Colorama (Brasil). Just look at that smooth finish..It's a creamy polish that ends to a matte finish. 
As many creamy polishes, they are very tricky specially if they are matte, but this one was really smooth and easy to apply. I was really impressed, here I am wearing 2 coats only , but it has to be sealed on the tips of the nails. 


Empezando con este hermoso esmlate negro como base. Este es "Preto Grafico Fosco" de Colorama (Brasil). Solo miren su acabado tan liso.. Es un esmalte cremoso con un acabado mate.
Como muchos esmaltes cremosos, pueden ser algo dificil y disparejo especialmente si son mate, pero este estuvo parejo y facil de aplicar. Estuve muy impresionada, aqui ven 2 capas solamente, pero debe ser sellado en las puntas de la uña.

For the design, I used single chevron stickers.
On my ring finger I applied one thin coat of "sparkle on top" and on my middle finger I used the sponge method then added one thin coat with the brush.
The sponge method is when we use a make up sponge to maximize the amount of glitter without having a thick layer of the clear base polish.


Para este diseño, use chevron stikers para uñas. 
En mi dedo anular tengo una ligera capa de 'sparkle on top' y en medio use el metodo con la esponja de maquillaje y luego aplique una ligera capa sobre este con la misma brocha. 
Esta tecnina de esponja es cuando usamos una esponja de maquillaje para maximisar la cantidad de escarcha sin tener  una capa gruesa del esmalte base transparente.

Abstract Rose Nails

A gorgeous abstract rose, that doesn't need to be perfect. 
This rose has simple curved lines that were molded to look like a rose. 

Una hermosa rosa abstracta, que no necesita ser perfecta. 
Esta rosa esta hecha con simples lineas curvas que fueron modeladas para que parezca una rosa.

I used different shades of red to give it more realis and depth as well I did the same for the 2 leaves using 2 shades of green. (I used a thin art brush)
I really like this kind of abstract art. 


Use diferentes tonos de rojo para darle mas realismo y profundidad al igual hice lo mismo con las 2 hojas usando dos tonos de verde. (usando un pincel delgado) 
Me gusta mucho este tipo de arte abstracto.
