Worn Square Vortex Nails Using Vinyls From 'Snail Vinyls'

Back with some vinyls, this time the square vortex. 
These kind of swirl stencils are my favorite, I really like that effect. 


De regreso con mas vinilos, esta vez el vortice cuadrado. 
Este tipo de estencil son mis favoritos, me gusta mucho ese efecto. 

The base color is "Light My Sapphire" by OPI.
It is a dark blue shade with silver shimmer. 
Covers completely in 2 easy coats, formula was very smooth and easy to work with. 



Mi color base es "Light My Sapphire" de OPI.
Es un color azul oscuro con toque de escarcha plateada.
Cubre completamente en 2 capas, formula es muy suave, facil de aplicar y facil de trabajarla.

For that worn effect I used a silver polish "Silver Sweep" by Sally Hansen and a make up sponge. 
When using vinyls, the base color should be completely dried before applying it. 
I placed the stencil over the nail and sponged a little of the silver polish with the make up sponge but did not covered it completely, also removing some excess from the sponge to give that worn effect. I also recommend using a highly pigmented nail polish (like one coat polish) for this step like this silver was perfect. I removed the stencil right away.
I let everything dry and apply my "Super Shine" topcoat by Sally Hansen. 


Para este efecto desgastado use un esmalte plateado "Silver Sweep" de Sally Hansen y una esponga de maquillaje. 
Cuando usamos estos vinilos debemos asegurarnos que el color base esta completamente seco antes de aplicarlo.
Coloque el estencil sobre la uña y con la esponja aplique un poco del esmalte plateado pero no cubri por completo el diseño, y tambien removi exceso de esmalte de la esponja, para ese efecto desgastado. Tambien recomiendo que usen un esmalte altamente pigmentado (como esmalte de una sola capa) para este paso como este plateado era perfecto. Luego de eso removi el estencil en seguida. 
Deje que todo secara y aplique mi topcoa"Super Shine" de Sally Hansen.

Dragon Vale Nails Inspired "Spring Dragon Egg"

Nail blogger issue! All we see turns into a nail inspiration...
When I am out shopping, it doesn't matter what all I see the first thing that comes to my mind is "oh look a new nail idea". ALWAYS. 


Los problemas de una bloguera! Todo lo que vemos se transforma en una inspiracion. 
Cuando estoy afuera comprando, no importa que todo lo que veo lo primero que se me viene a la cabeza es "Ay miren una nueva idea para mis uñas" SIEMPRE. 

And this time was not different. I play dragon vale about 2 years ago or more and while looking at those egg pedestals some of them are so pretty, and perfect for a nail inspiration like this one!. 
I believe I wanted to do this egg design since it came out but I did not trust my skills. By that time I was just a beginner. Practice makes perfect and I couldn't be prouder.



Y esta vez no fue excepción. Yo juego 'dragon vale' desde hace unos 2 años o mas y mientras miraba los pedestales algunos eran tan bonitos, y perfectos para una buena inspiracion como este!.
Creo que yo quise hacer este diseño desde que salio pero yo no confiaba en mis habilidades, para esos tiempos yo solo era una principiante. La practica hace al maestro y yo no pude estar mas orgullosa.

I first started with my accent nail, since I was not sure about how it was going to turn out. The base color I used is "Statemint" by Sally Hansen.
For the details I had to mix 2 or more colors to achieve the right ones.
Topcoat "Super Shine" by Sally Hansen. 



Primero empece con mi uña de acento, ya que no sabia como me iba a resultar. 
El color base que use es "Statemint" de Sally Hansen. 
Para los detalles tuve que mezclar 2 o mas colores para llegar a los correctos.
Topcoat "Super Shine" de Sally Hansen.

all polishes used. 

"Cereza"(cherry color) + "Neptuno"(dark blue) + (neon pink) = pink details 
"Onix" (black) for outline
"Oceano" (light blue) + "Alpine Snow" (white) = for dots 
"Medium blue" other details. 

I did not know which color to use for the other nails, I did not want to do a perfect match, I wanted to contrast a little so I decided to go with this gorgeous cherry color by Flormar "M112".
Its formula is AMAZING! so creamy, smooth, self leveling covers with 2 thin coats only. 
But I don't know wht it is SuperMatte because it is clearly SuperShiny .. And I did not even add a topcoat over it..  


No supe que color usar para el resto de las uñas, no quise hacer la combinacion perfecta, mas bien queria contrastar un poco asi que decidi irme por este hermoso color cereza de Flormar "M112". 
Esta formula es MARAVILLOSA! es tan cremosa, suave, se nivela a la perfeccion, y cubre con 2 capas ligeras. 
Pero no se porque es SuperMatte mas bien es Super Brillosa. Y ni use topcoat sobre esta.

This one has no number on it, I got it at my local beauty supply store came in a set of 14 different brushes, this one is my favorite. 


Use este pincelito para crear el diseño.
Este no tiene un numero, lo compre en una tienda de maquillaje y viene en un paquete con 14 pinceles diferentes, este es mi favorito.

"Super Hero" Nails Using Fireworks Nail Vinyls

How about a fun mani?
I call these "Super Hero" nails! Why? 
When I was working on it I had no idea what I was doing, but looking at the finish result the first thing that came to my mind was "Super Hero" maybe because of the shape of those stars that resemble some power, but I think the name is perfect for it.

Yo les llamo uñas "Super Héroe" Porque? 
Cuando yo estaba trabajando en ellas no tenia idea de lo que estaba haciendo, pero viendo el resultado final lo primero que se me vino a la cabeza fue 'super heroe' tal vez por la forma de las estrellas me recuerdan algo de poder, pero creo que el nombre le va muy bien. 

My base color is "Azul Bionico" by Colorama. 
Ok lets start from the beginning. The first time I used this polish I ended up with a lot of bubbles, I though this is the worst polish eveeeerr!! 3 awful coats.. it was soooo yukkk!

But, what is the issue with this formula? I believe the first time was my fault. Why? 
When i first applied it i did it fast. WRONG!! This polish needs to be applied very slow and with patience, let dry in between each coat completely. 

The second time, i had no problem with it. Normally when a nail polish sucks I simply quit from using it, but i persisted in this one because I really wanted to do a pink and blue combo, and these 2 match perfectly so I tried it one more time. This time I did 2 coats only. 

This is a blue jelly nail polish, its formula was ok, formula too thin, it needs from 3 to 4 coats for full opacity but jellies ain't opaque :P 
I did just 2 coats i like the transparency sometimes.. 




Mi color base es "Azul Bionico" de Colorama. 
Ok empecemos desde el principio. La primera vez que use este esmalte termine con un monton de burbujas, crei que era el peor esmalte de todooooss! 3 horribles capas, era taaan yukkk!

Pero, cual es el problema con esta formula? Creo que la primera vez fue mi culpa. Porque?
Cuando lo aplique por primera vez lo hice muy rapido. MAL!! Este esmalte tiene que ser aplicado lentamente y con paciencia, dejar secar entre capas.

La segunda vez no tuve problema con el. Normalmente cuando un esmalte apesta yo simplemente lo dejo, pero persisti en este porque de verdad queria hacer un mani en azul y rosa, y estos 2 combinaban a la perfeccion asi que lo intente una vez mas. Esta vez solo 2 capas. 

Este es un esmalte de consistencia 'gelatinosa' conocida como "Jelly Polish", su formula estuvo bien, muy delgada, necesita de 3 a 4 para cubrir por completo la uña pero los jellies no son opacos :P 
Solo hice 2 capas aveces me gusta la transparencia. 

For my accent nail and the stars I used this polish from Beauty Color. 
It is a jelly pink base with silver flakies. It is opaque in 3 coats. I liked this formula, dries fast, easy to apply and it is very smooth. 



Para mi uña de acento use este esmalte de Beauty Color. 
Es un esmalte tipo gelatinoso "Jelly Polish" con escarcha plateada. Cubre por completo en 3 capas. Me gusto esta formula, seca rapido, facil de aplicar y tiene un acabado liso. 

For the little star in each nail I used some vinyls from Snail Vinyls
These ones are called 'fireworks' vinyls. These are super cute. Always easy to work with. 


Para las pequeñas estrellas use unos vinilos de Snail Vinyls 
Estos se llaman 'firework' Son muy cutes. Siempre faciles de usar.

I really liked how the pinki turned out. 
And here is a close up of the jelly pink polish. Looks like sugar for me. 


Me gusto mas el meñique como quedo. 
Y aqui tienen un acercamiento del esmalte rosa. Parece azucar.

Black and white has always been a classic, and what a better way to bring it inspired by a music video... 
I remember the first time I saw "Heart Attack" by Demi Lovato, I use to see and pay attention to those random painting patterns shown, specially the dripping paint, and always thought about these as a good nail art inspiration. And here are the results.

Today my naked nails will be the main topic of this post.
All I do to keep my nails strong and healthy.

Todo lo que hago para que mis uñas esten siempre fuertes y sanas. 

About 2 years ago, I started to use this nail strengthener by OPI.. This formula is the Original Nail Envy. 
Why I opted for this one?
My nails were very weak, no matter what, they grew very slow and the slightest blow made it brake and chip on the tips. Too bad!.
I used to see good reviews about the OPI brand. The first person I saw using this nail envy was Vilcis on youtube, in most of her videos she pictured this bottle as her base coat for her manis. So I wanted to give it a try.
There are 5 different Envy from OPI. Each one for each kind of nail. 
My nails just needed to be a bit stronger, so this one was perfect for my nails.



Hace como 2 años atras, empece a usar este fortalecedor de OPI.. Esta formula es la Original Nail Envy. 
Porque opte por este?
Mis uñas eran muy debiles, sin importar que, ellas crecian lentas y el mas pequeño golpe hacia que se partiera y descasque en las puntas. Que mal!.
Siempre veia buenas reseñas de la marca OPI. La primera persona que yo veia que usaba este fortalecedor fue Vilcis en sus videos de youtube, en la mayoria de sus videos ella usaba este como su base protectora para sus manis. Asi que dicidi probarlo. 
Hay 5 formulas diferentes de OPI. Cada una para cada tipo de uña.
Las mias solo necesitaban ser un poco mas fuertes, asi que este era perfecta para mi.

I saw huge difference after I started to use this base coat, in within one month my nails were stronger and were growing even faster. I used it once or twice per week, alone or as my base coat. 
Now I do not need to use it that often, my nails are strong enough to use this, now i use it twice or 3 times per month is more than enough. 

Not all the time I use a base coat under my designs, any base coat will help prevent the nails from staining, but as a nail blogger I don't care to have my nails yellow. 



Vi una gran diferencia luego de usar esta formula, al rededor de un mes empeze a ver los cambios, mis uñas eran mas fuertes y crecian mas rapido. Solia usarlo una vez por semana o tal vez 2, solo o como mi base protectora. 
Ahora no necesito usarlo tan seguido, mis uñas son lo suficientemente fuertes para usarlo, ahora lo uso de 2 a 3 veces por mes es mas que suficiente.

No siempre uso base protectora en mis manis, cualquier base ayuda a prevenir las manchas amarillas, pero como bloguera no me importa tener las uñas amarillas. 

For my cuticles.. 
I do not remove my cuticles at all!
I did this cuticle oil at home using rosemery oil and olive oil in same quantity. 
How did I get this combo?
I was trying this on my hair .. But I never finish what I start, but I noticed that my hands were soften and my cuticles very clean, so I kept it as my home-made cuticle oil.
I use this 2 to 3 times per week. But sometimes I forget to use it the whole week.. 



Para mis cuticulas..
Yo no me quito las cuticulas, ni las corto! 
Hice este aceite para cuticulas en casa usando aceite de romero y aceite de olica en cantidades iguales.
Como llegue a esta combinacion?
Estaba tratandolo en mi cabello.. Pero yo nunca termino lo que empiezo, pero si note que mis manos estaban mas suaves y mis cuticulas mucho mas limpias, asi que se quedo como mi aceite hecho en casa. 
Lo uso de 2 a 3 veces por semana. Pero a veces olvido usarlo toda la semana... 

About 8 months ago, I also decided to use this famous butter cuticle cream. Although I hate lemon scent, it gives my hands and cuticles extra soften skin and extra hydration. Healthy cuticles = healthy nails. 


Hace como 8 meses atras, tambien decidi usar esta famosa crema para cuticulas. Aunque no me guste el olor a limon, esta le da a mis manos y cuticulas extra suavidad e hidratacion. Cuticulas sanas = uñas sanas. 

I like to file my nails with this metal thing, this one is from flormar. I tried the glass file but did not work for me, so I'm staying with my old one.. But I need a new one :P... After I file my nails I like to use the buffer to smooth all the tips and as you can see is so old as well..

How often I file them? 
Sometimes once a week, sometimes every 2 weeks.  


Me gusta limarme las uñas con una lima de metal, este es de Flormar. Trate con un de vidrio o mejor conocido como "Glass File" pero como que no me gusto mucho, asi que me quedo con mi viejo, aunque necesito uno nuevo :P.. Despues de limarlas me gusta suavizar los bordes con este 'buffer' y como pueden ver tambien esta algo viejo.

Que tan seguido me limo las uñas?
A veces 1 vez a la semana, a veces cada 2 semanas. 

But that is not all, if you thought that the nail polish remover or acetone does not affect the cuticles or the nails, then you were so wrong...


Pero esto no es todo, si creyeron que la acetona o el quita esmalte no tiene efecto sobre las cuticulas o las uñas, entonces estan muy mal. 

BEST REMOVER EVER!!!

First let me show you the best nail polish remover I have ever tried. 
Why? 
This remover contains softening oils and Aloe Vera that prevents the drying nail and hardening of  the cuticle, and guess what? IT DEFINITELY WORKS.. Is like having 2 products in one, while removing the polish (and it does is so fast) also soften the cuticles, I don't have to worry about that it would dry my cuticles and moisturize them after using it, this remover does it by itself. 


Primero dejenme mostrarles el mejor quita esmalte que he probado. 
Porque? 
Este quita esmalte contiene aceites suavizantes y aloe vera como ven en la botella que evita el rececamiento de las uñas y el endurecimiento de las cuticulas, y que creen? SI FUNCIONA.. Es como tener 2 prodcutos en 1, mientras remueve el esmalte (y lo hace bastante rapido) tambien suaviza las cuticulas, no tengo que preocuparme por que se me resequen las cuticulas y humectarlas despues de usarlo, este quita esmalte lo hace por si solo.  

But ... what happens when I change my remover by this regular one because I ran out of my magical one? 
I really like the brand Sally Hansen, their polishes are amazing so I thought ok the remover must be good. 
Aaaand this happened: 



Pero que pasa cuando cambias el removedor por uno regular porque se acabo el otro?
Personalmente me gusta mucho la marca Sally Hansen, sus esmaltes son geniales asi que pense, ok entonces el removedor debe ser bueno tambien.
Yyyyyy esto paso:

Can you see that little bomb? Belive me, if I used it more time I would had more than one because it happened before with another remover, it was worse that this one, so I believe their formula were pretty similar. My skin was awful, damaged and itchy. 


Pueden ver esa bolita? Creanme, si hubiese usado el removedor por mas tiempo tendria mas de una porque ya me ha pasado antes con otra marca, estaba peor que esta, asi que creo que su formula era muy similar. Mi piel estaba malisima, dañada y con comezon. 

There you can see dried nails and skin around it. 
This may not happen to everyone, perhaps my skin is very delicate for this formula.


Aqui pueden ver la uña un poco seca y la piel al rededor seca.
Esto pueda que no le suceda a todos, talvez mi piel es muy delicada para esta formula.  

Last but not leats! 
WEAR GLOVES! 
If you have to work at home, wear them.
All these chemical products to clean the house damage the skin and so the nails. 
Take care of yourself ;) - Just like my hubby, look what he brings me to take care of my nails... Even he knows that.. 


Y por ultimo!
USA GUANTES!
Si tienes que trabajar en casa, usalos.
Todos estos quimicos para limpiar la casa daña la piel y tambien las uñas.
Cuidate ;) - AL igual que mi esposo, miren lo que me trae para que cuide mis uñas.. Incluso el lo sabe...

Q: How you keep your nails so strong?
A: All I have shown here is what I do. Nothing else.

Q: How you keep them so long?
A: I just don't cut them.

Q: How you avoid nails from breaking? 
A: Unfortunately my nails do break sometimes, but I like to avoid that. The oil I use also gives my nails some flexibility so they don't break with the minimum stroke. 
I do things slowly and very careful. I don't use my nails as tools.

Q: Do you remove your cuticles?
A: No, I don't. I do no have any to remove due to my routine, I always keep my nails and skin moisturized and that avoids my cuticles from drying.

Q: How to avoid hanging nails?
A: Same as previous = moisturizing! It is important.

Q: Any suggestion for nail biters? 
A: Yes! Just paint your nails... When you have a pretty design you don't want to ruin it. Specially if that took you more than an hour. So go ahead. Also you can check CutePolish 's video where she shows 5 different ways to stop biting your nails. It is extremely helpful.

Q: Are your nails natural?
A: YES they are, this question really annoys me, specially when people assume that they are fake even before asking, when I have answered it like millions of times. Why is it so hard to believe that someone can actually have such healthy nails?

R: Todo lo que he mostrado aqui es lo que hago. Nada mas. 

P: Como las llevas tan largas?
R: Yo no me las corto. 

P: Como previenes que se te partan las uñas?
R: Desafortunadamente mis uñas si se parten a veces. Pero me gusta prevenir eso, el aceite que uso tambien me da la flexibilidad que mis uñas necesitan para que no se partan con el mas minimo golpe. Me gusta hacer las cosas despacio y cuidadosamente. No uso mis uñas como herramienta. 

P: Te quitas las cuticulas?
R: No, Yo no tengo cuticulas que remover debido a mi cuidado. Siempre llevo las manos y uñas muy humectadas y eso impide la resequedad de las cuticulas.

P: Como evitas los padrastros?
R: Al igual que la anterior = humectando! Es importante. 

P: Alguna sugerencia para no comerse las uñas?
R: Si! Solo pintate las uñas... Cuando llevas un diseño muy bonito no vas a querer arruinarlo, especialmente si este te llevo mas de una hora. Asi que adelante. Tambien pueden ver CutePolish en youtube, ella muestra 5 maneras diferentes para dejar de morder las uñas. Es de mucha ayuda.

P: Son tus uñas naturales?
R: SI. Esta pregunta es la que mas me molesta, especialmente cuando la gente asume que son falsas sin antes haber preguntado, cuando yo ya la he respondido mas de mil veces. Porque les cuesta creer que alguien pueda tener uñas sanas? 
Pues ahi les deje fotos de mis uñas al desnudo en todos los angulos posibles xD.

Born Pretty Store Review 3 - Part 7 - French Tip Water Decals

The last item I have to show you from BornPrettyStore are these beutiful water decals with a floral print. Just look how pretty these are. 


El ultimo articulo que tengo para mostrarles de BornPrettyStore son estas hermosas calcomanias de agua con una estampa floral. Solo miren que bellas son. 

This sheet contains 14 french tips water decals, 3 bigs for the thumbs, 3 small for the pinkies and 8 with a middle size for index, middle and ring finger nails. 


Esta hoja contiene 14  calcomanias estilo francesita, 3 grandes para los pulgares, 3 pequeñas para los meñiques y 8 medianas para los indice, medio y anular. 

And because I only like 2 to 3 accents :P .. On my index and pinkie I used "Vanity Flare" by Sally Hansen. This is a creamy purple shade, although in the picture shows a hint of blue, but in person looks more purple than shown. Formula was really great, easy to apply, covers in 2 thin coats.. 
And I sealed my decals with "Super Shine" topcoat also by Sally Hansen. 


Y porque a mi me gusta 2 que 3 uñas de acento :P... En mis uñas indice y meñique use "Vanity Flare" de Sally Hansen. Este es un esmalte purpura cremoso, aunque en la foto parece que tiene un toque de azul,este es mas purpura en persona de lo que muestra. Su formula es muy buena, facil de aplicar y cubre en 2 capas ligeras. 
Y selle mis calcomanias con "Super Shine" topcoat tambien de Sally Hansen.

I decided to go with purple color to match the little flower on the middle nail, but I believe it would look as good with a dark green to match the leaves or a red for the main flowers, or even a nude as the base color of the decal. 


Decidi ir con el color purpura para combinar con la pequeña flor en la uña del medio, pero creo que tambien se veria bien con un tono verde oscuro para combinar con las hojas, o un rojo por las flores principales o incluso un tono nude como el color base de la calcomania. 

These decals are so easy to use, they come with instructions on the back of the sheet, but sadly my nails are too wide for them as you can see on my thumb there is just a little uncovered part, but not big deal :))

Estas calcomanias son muy faciles de usar, ya viene con instrucciones en la parte trasera de la hoja, pero tristemente mis uñas son muy anchas para esta, asi como pueden ver en el pulgar esa pequeña parte sin cubrir. pero para mi no es la gran cosa :))

Personal Opinion:
I would recomend this for long nails only. if we are going to trim part of the decal to fit the free edge of the nail, then the design will not be appreciated. So I let my nail grow a little more just for this decal. 
But what if you have round nails? No worries!!! There are also available for them, which were the first ones I saw... But since my nails are square I couldn't get them and I was so happy when I saw these new square decals that I did not doubt and got them to review. 


Mi Opinion Personal:
Yo recomiendo estas para uñas largas. Si fueramos a cortar parte de esta para que encaje en la uña correctamente, el diseño se perdera y no sera apreciado. Asi que deje que mis uñas crezcan un poco mas solo por esto. 
Pero que si tengo uñas redondas? Sin preocupaciones!!! Tambien hay disponible para ellas, las cuales fueron las primeras que vi, pero mis uñas son cuadradas asi que no pude escojerlas y luego cuando vi estas calcomanias nuevas no dude y las escoji para la reseña.

Elegant Vampy Roses Nails Inspired

Because I can't get enough of dark vampy polish...
Roses over a sheer base and flakies.
This time I got the idea from Luciana McGee Nail Artist on youtube when she was trying Madam Glam nail polishes. 
She created an accent nail with acrylic flowers over the bare nail and added some flakies on the empty spaces, and I really loved how that looked, I knew I had to do it on my own version. 

Mermaid Nails / Collaboration With TheCottonSugar

I had the pleasure to work with an amazing artist this time, Maria aka @thecottonsugar  I personally love to do this collabs because we get to know the artist a little bit better than just the nails. There is more behind it. 
I decided to create her mermaid nails and look how great we worked here.. In all the pictures she post all her 4 fingers shown on picture have designs, I am used to do only 2 accents. So I did 2 accents of her mermaid and she did all 4 of my 2 accents. This is really amazing.. haha love it!
