Mermaid Nails / Collaboration With TheCottonSugar

I had the pleasure to work with an amazing artist this time, Maria aka @thecottonsugar  I personally love to do this collabs because we get to know the artist a little bit better than just the nails. There is more behind it. 
I decided to create her mermaid nails and look how great we worked here.. In all the pictures she post all her 4 fingers shown on picture have designs, I am used to do only 2 accents. So I did 2 accents of her mermaid and she did all 4 of my 2 accents. This is really amazing.. haha love it! 






Tuve el placer de trabajar con una asombrosa artista esta vez, Maria conocida como @thecottonsugar . Personalmente amo hacer estos tipos de collab porque asi conozco mejor a la artista mas que solo las uñas. Hay mucho mas detras de eso. 
Decidi recrear sus uñas de sirena y miren que bien trabajamos aqui... En todas sus fotos que ella cuelga todas las 4 uñas mostradas tienen diseño, y yo solo estoy acostumbrada a hacer 2. Asi que yo hice solo 2 uñas de acento de su diseño sirena, y ella hizo todas 4 de mis 2 acentos.. Esto es brillante, jaja me encanta. 

All 3 Polishes used here are by Vogue Fantastic, except for the topcoat, if you have been following me around the beggining of the year then you may know that I will not change my "Super Shine" Topcoat by Sally Hansen. 
The base color is "Onix", 2 easy coats, very smooth and easy to apply. 


Todos los 3 esmaltes que he usado son de Vogue Fantastic, a excepcion del topcoat, si me han seguido al rededor de principio de año entonces sabran que no cambio mi "Super Shine" topcoat de Sally Hansen.
El color base es "Onix", 2 capas ligeras, muy liso y facil de aplicar. 

For the mermaid scales I did a gradient using these 2 'duo chrome' and a free latex Makeup Sponge.

Green is "Bruma".. It is a shimmery duo chrome polish. This one shifts from green to a dark pink and a tiny hint of gold but it is very hard to capture. The formula on its own is really smooth and easy to apply. Is like a sea in a bottle. Covers in 2 coats. 


Para las escamas de la sirena hice un degrade con estos esmaltes 'tornasol' y una esponja de maquillaje.

Verde es "Bruma".. Este cambia de verde a un rosa oscuro y un toque de dorado pero es muy dificil de capturar. Su formula en si es muy buena, lisa y facil de aplicar, es como tener el oceano en una botella. Cubre con 2 capas.

Blue is "Alba" .. This one shifts from blue to purple and a very tiny hint of gold, also very hard to capture. The formula on its own is very smooth and east to apply. Covers in 2 coats. 

Azul es "Alba".. Este cambia de azul a morado y un pequeño toque de dorado, tambien es muy dificil de capturar. Su formula es muy buena, lisa y facil de aplicar. Cubre con 2 capas.

For the mermaid scales  guide I used mermaid vinyls from Snail Vinyls. 
And i really forgot to take a shot, my nails with the vinyls.. Oops.. 
But you can get them at SnailVinyls.com  these are very helpful. I have tried to do mermaid free hand it was a complete mess, but not anymore. I love them. 


Para las escamas de sirena use los vinilos de sirena de Snail Vinyls. 
Y en realidad se me olvido tomar una foto de las uñas con los vinilos.. Oops.. 
Pero pueden comprarlos en SnailVinyls.com estos son de mucha ayuda. He tratado de hacer las escamas a mano alzada pero fue un desastre, pero no mas. Me encantan.

Here as it looks with the direct light, you can appreciate a little bit more of the shimmer.

And since I have been waiting so long to do mermaid nails, I decided to play a little with these and add some studs.

Y como he esperado tanto para hacer estas uñas, decidi jugar un poco con ellas y le agregue unas piedritas.
