My Nail Art Journal: Splattered Foil Paint

One of so many designs that did not turn out as I expect but instead turns out even better.

First of all, what I used to crate this look is a 'Nail Foil'
This is a piece of transfer metallic sheet that can be used on the nail using a special glue.
The foil i bought it on a local store more than a year ago maybe 2 years and never used it until today ...

The special glue is the one shown in the picture. It applies on the nail super easy as a regular nail polish and it is white when it's wet, but when it dries becomes clear and sticky.

Primero que nada, lo que use para este look se llama "Nail Foil"
Es un pedazo de papel transfer muy delgado y fino que puede ser usado en la uña usando un pegamento especial.
Este papel lo compre en una tienda local hace mas de un año tal vez 2 y nunca lo use hasta el dia de hoy...

El pegamento especial es el que se muestra en la foto. Se aplica muy facil como un esmalte comun y es blanco cuando esta mojado, pero cuando se seca se torna transparente y pegajoso.

The base color I used for this mani is by Colorama "Preto Grafico Fosco"
This is a black nail polish with a matte finish. This polish is pure perfection, it has an amazing smooth finish, no strokes, so easy to work with and applies so evenly.
I did 2 coats sealing the tips as well. That's it 2 coats.

El color base que use es de Colorama "Preto Grafico Fosco"
Es un esmalte negro con acabado mate. Este esmalte es pura perfeccion, tiene un acabado ridículamente perfecto, sin marca de brocha, tan facil de trabajar y se aplica tan parejo.
Use 2 capas incluso sellando las puntas. Solo eso 2 capas..

Let's start with the thumb which was the main idea in first place.
My original idea was to make these lightning bolt with the foil, but then I thought to make some sort of clouds.
I liked the design, but it looked better in my head. For me, it doesn't look that bad.

What I did:
Painted my nails and let dry completely.
I placed the vinyl on the nail and painted with the glue inside the lightning bolt and removed the vinyl right away.
To make the clouds sort of thing, I used a makeup sponge for an irregular pattern. When the glue dries becomes clear.
It is when I can transfer the nail foil.

Empecemos con el pulgar que fue la idea principal.
Mi idea original era hacer estos rayos usando el papel, pero luego pense hacer un tipo de nube.
Me gusto el diseño, pero se veia mejor en mi cabeza. Para mi, no esta tan mal..

Lo que hice fue:
Pinte mis uñas y las deje secar por completo.
Coloque el vinilo en la uña y pinte dentro del rayo con el pegamento especial y quite el vinilo enseguida.
Para hacer las nubes o algo asi, use una esponja de maquillaje para hacer algun patron irregular. Cuando el pegamento seca se vuelve transparente.
Ahi es cuando puedo transferir el papel.

I was going to do the same as my thumb on my ring finger nail until I made the middle nail.. hum
Trying to make some clouds I ended up doing this and it looks like splatter paint.
I loved so much the result that I did the same on the ring nail.
The contrast between the matte and shiny is really amazing. It is one of the easiest nail art I have ever done although it looks hard and more complicated xD.

Iba hacer lo mismo que mi pulgar en la uña del dedo anular hasta que hice la uña del medio.. hum
Tratando de hacer una especie de nubes este fue el resultado y parece salpicadura de pintura.
Me encanto el resultado, tanto que hice lo mismo en el anular.
El contraste entre el mate y el brillo del metalico es espectacular. Es uno de los diseños mas faciles que he hecho aunque parezca complicado y dificil xD.

So you might think that I should have add topcoat to this but I did not for some reasons.
One, the topcoat crackles the foil.
And two, if I added topcoat it wouldn't had this effect of matte and shiny, if I use a matte topcoat then the foil would turn matte too, if I used a shiny topcoat then the black won't be matte anymore..

The bad thing is that this without a topcoat will not last for any longer, at all, not even a day.
So here basically I just did the mani, took some pictures and done.

Asi que pensaran que debi usar topcoat para este diseño pero no lo hice por algunas razones.
Uno, el topcoat craquea el papel.
Y dos, si le aplico el topcoat no tendria este efecto de mate y brillo, si uno un topcoat mate entonces todo seria mate y el papel pierde su efecto metalico, y si le aplico un brillo entonces el negro ya no seria mate..
Ya entienden el punto..

Lo malo es que sin un topcoat esto no durara nada, ni si quiera un dia.
Asi que basicamente lo hice, tome unas fotos y listo.
